wheatandworry

how could you know
unknowing –
of ways before we were
as light between the candle
and the flame
a touch of almost
nothing
fades without you here
how could you know –
my skin don’t feel
the same

as living unexpected
when thought my purpose done
fields are growing
over yesterday
grain is separated
golden from the chaff
as pieces
never meant
are blown away

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAmorning comes
remembering –
another dawn I lay
wrapped in softest linen
counted sleep
folded now to memory –
stored upon the shelf
take me down
as moments –
left to keep
