wherestill

how tender
my returning –
a dreamer to the end
narrow ways
go dark
before the dawn
wielded me another truth
story holding still
weary grace
within my silence sits

calm
against the clawing
as ringing now
the bell
tho somewhere I am come
in search of light –
suffering a shadow
raked into the fields –
blazing red in grief
for winter golds

marry me
before I say
will be my last surrender
a garden of intent
is wilted there
cut the vines and lean the fence
near to worlds
of waiting –
as light to pierce
the only name
I wear

. . .
